David Ardinaryas Lojaya is a conceptual artist and illustrator focused primarily on animation and video game industry.
Trained as an artist at the Teknologi Kreatif Limkokwing University, he later learns from the industry masters: Sam Nielson in lighting, and Nathan Fowkes in the design of scenarios and atmospheres.
He has a defined style, recognizable and with clear signs of identity in which the strength lies in the expressiveness of the characters. His work is present in movies, games and series of Dreamworks or Walt Disney Animation, among other companies in the industry. It is also noteworthy the cover made for singer Jon Bellion and his album “The Human Condition”.
For his part, he has only one piece of advice for those starting out in the world of illustration and character creation:
“You must work hard constantly but, above all, you must learn to accept ugliness as a way to find beauty. I learned to accept ugliness or imperfection as part of my career. To create something beautiful you have to appreciate imperfection and give it value”
David Ardinaryas is an Indonesian cartoonist and conceptual artist.
He is very popular for his drawings for production companies such as Dreamworks Animation, Disney Television Animation or Skydance Animation, as well as for the video game company Bit Fry Game Studios. Trained at the University of Limkokwing in Malaysia, he has created characters for numerous films, video games, television series and musical albums.
His work stands out for his broad knowledge in human anatomy and the great expressiveness of his characters, aspects that have led him to be one of the best valued conceptual artists in the sector.
Purpose of this course
During this course you will learn to paint a character from a sketch. Through the three-dimensional construction of the different parts of the characters, David will paint it using digital techniques, all volumes and apply the lights and colors. All this will be done using Adobe Photoshop.
Who it is for?
This course is aimed at cartoonists and illustrators, amateurs or professionals who want to learn techniques and procedures to help them improve their work. Lovers of Disney and Dreamworks animations can learn about the creative process of characters that make up these worlds.
To complete this course, you need to have a graphic rendering application, preferably Adobe Photoshop. It is also advisable, but not indispensable, to have a scanner and graphic tablet.
