The purpose of this course is to achieve a complete illustration using traditional and digital media for.

So you can unite the best of both media. The warmth and imperfection of traditional media with the multiple possibilities offered by digital tools.

You will be able to develop an illustration from the beginning to the end, from the initial sketch, through the formation of pencil drawing, inking and color finishing by digital means.

Chantal Horeis draws a female figure with floral motifs or patterns on the dress and we will shape our entire illustration with an atmosphere that is our hallmark.

You can learn to treat hair, expression, light and shadow contrasts, adequate saturation and opacity, the balance of a simple and harmonious color palette.

In addition, you will be able to discover the necessary importance of freedom when creating knowing how to appreciate “the beauty of imperfection”, the real weight of our focus on the character, the correction of levels and the value of gradients in the composition.

Purpose of the courses

During this course, you will learn to make your own illustration combining traditional and digital techniques. This process will take place from start to finish. For more than 2 hours of the course, you will be able to see a Chatal demonstration, in addition to an explanation and breakdown of the entire process in simple steps that will allow you to apply these ideas after your own work.

Once the whole process is finished, you will be able to contribute a greater wealth of nuances and textures to your own illustrations.

Who these are for?

This course is aimed at artists or illustrators, hobbyists or professionals who want to learn techniques, resources and procedures to learn, improve or develop their talent in the field of traditional and digital illustration.

Requirements

Personal computer or tablet to view the videos. It is also possible to use a smartphone, although we recommend larger screen sizes that allow you to better appreciate the details. On the other hand, each one will be able to make use of the preferred pictorial material to carry out the practices, although we recommend paper, pencils and markers to start the illustration with traditional techniques. In short, all the materials recommended by Chantal Horeis for the illustration during the entire tutorial process.

On the other hand, it is also recommended to have a personal computer with the Adobe Photoshop application and, if possible, a graphics tablet.

The materials, we reiterate, are recommended. You can do the tutorial without all the materials or in formats other than those oriented in the videos.

The important thing is to practice, practice and re-practice the exercise proposed by the teacher.

In addition to dedicating herself to her personal work, she carries out editorial and cover commissions, fundamentally specializing in mixing traditional and digital media, she loves getting lost in textures scribbling and adding fun details to her works.

With more than five years of experience in the field of illustration, throughout her career Chantal Horeis always seeks to explore and rediscover the dreams and magic that surrounds us to translate it into her creations.
