In this course, Jacob Dhein will carry out the realization of a nude painting from beginning to end. Explaining step by step the different stages that will allow us to master the process to obtain a professional result.

Throughout this course we will learn how to face the representation of the figure in our paintings, how to find the ideal point to present a balanced and subtle composition to the eye of the viewer, provide the skin tone, color temperature and correct proportions to the nude body that we are going to represent and how to professionally transmit and adapt the image to our painting with a personal, expressive and realistic touch at the same time.

Through fifteen videos with a total duration of almost 4 and a half hours we will see:

  • Drawing. Proportions and measurements. Color temperatures.
  • Skin tone. Incidence of light. Transitions.
  • Movement. Shape and effect. Volume.

Purpose of the courses

During this course you can learn to combine traditional and contemporary techniques to create and generate a nude painting from beginning to end. Throughout the almost 4 hours and a half of the course you will be able to contemplate a continuous demonstration of Jacob, in addition to an explanation and breakdown of his entire process in simple steps that allow you to apply these ideas after your own work.

All this, to be able to contribute a greater understanding to your personal creative process once the whole process is finished.

Who these are for?

This course is aimed at artists or, people who are fond of painting or professionals who want to know techniques, resources and procedures to learn, improve or develop their talent on the theme of the nude painting.

Requirements

Personal computer or tablet to view the videos. It is also possible to use a smartphone, although we recommend larger screen sizes that allow you to better appreciate the details. On the other hand, each one will be able to make use of the preferred pictorial material to carry out the practices, although we recommend canvas, oils or acrylics, brushes, spatulas, brushes, brush, etc. In short, all the materials recommended by Jacob Dhein for the realization of the painting to work throughout the tutorial process.

The materials, we reiterate, are recommended. You can do the tutorial without all the materials or in formats other than those oriented in the videos.

The important thing is to practice, practice and re-practice the exercise proposed by the teacher.

Jacob Dhein

Jacob Dhein is an American figurative and realistic painter.

Graduated with a bachelor of Fine Arts in the specialties of Painting and Sculpture; and with a postgraduate degree in Fine Arts from the Art Academy of the University of San Francisco, USA. Jacob Dhein is a multifaceted artist who stands out for his exquisite mastery of drawing, the measured chromaticism in all his works and his rigorous composition.

Currently, he presents himself as one of the most representative figures of painting internationally. His paintings focused on the theme of the urban landscape, portraits and nudes have made him a world benchmark for his control of light, shadows and color that he is able to capture from the city itself, be it Chicago, Boston, Detroit or Madrid, the city a paint.

His work, present in many group and individual exhibitions, has been exhibited in various galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Santa Barbara and San Francisco. For a decade, he has taught workshops around the world and since 2014, he is full professor at the Art Academy of the University of San Francisco, USA.
