About the artist

Juan Ruiz

Juan Ruiz

Juan Ruiz, Jaén 1993. Jienense painter, currently resident in Granada.

The style in which Juan Ruiz moves is figuration, which he takes as a world to be explored, where everything is interpretable, both the shape and the color, seeking in some way to achieve new registers or new solutions with which approach a figurative painting today.

Trained at the School of Art in Jaén (José Nogué), his career revolves around continuous experimentation in which the following stand out as the main references, among others: Nicolás Uribe, Rupretch Von Kaufman, Jenny Saville, Basquiat or Jerome Witkin .

Despite his youth, part of his production has been seen collectively and individually in galleries and national and international art fairs.
